Carbon Footprints
CarbonSolutions has been creating GHG inventories for more than 10 years. Our expert team can help you measure, organize, manage, track, and report your organization’s GHG emissions. We quantify emissions in adherence to the most widely accepted scientific protocols in the industry, developed by the EPA, the IPCC, ICLEI, ISO, the Climate Registry, and the World Resource Institute.

We specialize in three kinds of footprints:

Organizational GHG Inventories

Organizations that are looking at their environmental impact for the first time need a solid foundation to build on. Our team develops quality GHG inventories in conformance with ISO 14064-1 and the GHG Protocol. We use these inventories to help organizations understand the significant roles that carbon and energy play in their operations.

But it doesn’t end there. In fact, measuring emissions is usually just a segue into managing them. Once we have developed a comprehensive GHG inventory, we can identify and prioritize reduction opportunities. Incorporating the cost of energy and fuel enables us to conduct a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis for various emission reduction opportunities.

Life Cycle Assessment (Product Footprints)

A life cycle assessment, or LCA, is a cradle-to-grave assessment of a product’s ecological footprint, from raw material extraction to disposal. As companies like Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Tesco announce plans to develop sustainability scorecards, more companies need to know the full environmental impacts of their products and supply chain.

We work with clients to conduct extensive LCAs, measuring energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and waste generation across the supply chain of their products.

Event Footprints

Many high-profile events are seeking to reduce and neutralize their carbon footprints. For an event to be carbon neutral, all its emissions must be accounted for and an equal amount of offsets applied. CarbonSolutions has extensive experience quantifying and neutralizing event footprints for concerts, conferences, sporting events, and more. Once we have quantified the emissions, we can assist clients in sourcing high quality carbon offsets to neutralize the event.
